Psst! Pittsburgh

Scary but true factoid: If you want to beat us, bench Cindy!

That's right. We won the regular season Battle of Pennsylvania this year (5-3). And you know what? We generally won when Sid the Kid played. See, it's a trend:

11/07 in Pittsburgh: Flyers win with Sid
11/10 in Philadelphia: Flyers win with Sid
12/11 in Philadelphia: Flyers win with Sid
1/24 in Philadelphia: Flyers win without Sid
2/10 in Pittsburgh: Pens win without Sid
3/16 in Pittsburgh: Pens win without Sid
4/02 in Pittsburgh: Pens win with Sid
4/06 in Philadelphia: Flyers win without Sid

QuĂ© interesante, ¿no cierto?

You know who really gives us trouble? Evgeni Malkin.

The Pens are 8-1 in the playoffs and the whole world thinks the flyers don't stand a chance... any thoughts on that???

How about when the Pens beat the flyers 7-1 in March and they didn't even have Crosby, Hossa, Dupuis, or Gill (4 of their best players)...

It has been 9,107 days since the last championship in philadelphia. Don't expect that to change.

Sid did not play in the last game of the season.

bench the best player inthe world makes the pens better? what do they put in the water over there in Filth-a-delphia

sid did not play the 4th game or last game, the flyers won the first game. also fleury missed a bunch of these games, and i'm not sure if hossa played in any of them.

Psst! Flyers.Femme

Get Your Facts Straight!!!!

you have the series split at 4 Wins- 4 Loses...Philly won the series 5 to 3...

Sid missed at LEAST the last game...EVERY flyers fan should know that!...that's been the whole basis for the 'tanking' argument the past month.

I do appreciate your recognition of the pre-Bettman Divsion/Conf. changes.

Sid also has 16 G, 21 A in 20 career games against the Flyers, so I wouldn't say that Sid hasn't given the Flyers plenty of trouble too.

Wow, nice to see so many friendly Pens fans around!

Also wonderful to see that so many of you have bothered to read here before and know that I like having fun with the game...and that you can each take a joke!

@tlove1637: That 7-1 game probably felt like your 8-2 loss to us.

@give me the brandy's last post: I'm just talking about this season.

Really, lighten up guys. We can all grind each other into the dust come Friday.

fair enough. i will definitely agree that malkin has been better player against the flyers this year.

I'll play 'nice' since I'm a visitor to your blog looking at/for a Flyers fan perspective...

What's gotten into RJ?...he [along with Franzen] is like a 21st century John Druce...

I wanted the Pens to try & sign him when he opted out signing with Vancouver...he seems to fit into the Flyer-mold of player quite nicely.

good blog, even for a flyer fan...

Just remember this...the 1 game when both teams were at 100%:

Pens 7 Flyers 1

that was the full compliment: Fleury, Sid, Geno, Staal, Hossa, Dupuis, Gill, Letang etc, etc.

you seem nice, but I cannot wish you any luck!

The funny thing is that the Rangers and Senators also won their regular season series with the Pens, didn't do them a whole lot of good in the playoffs.
